I am Kate. Creativity is my love and my passion. I love all things craft related. I knit, crochet, needle-felt and experiment with new techniques constantly. My favorite is making things out of yarn. My grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet before I could even read. Not such a big fan back then. Almost 16 years ago, when I got pregnant to my son, I decided to knit a baby blanket for him and I was browsing the internet for ideas. That’s when I came across some crochet patterns and I realized I didn’t remember how to crochet. So I started learning again through Youtube. After I practiced and became more experienced with crocheting, all I wanted to do was continue to make beautiful items for family and friends. I have moved onto many other designs I never could’ve imagined making when I started out. I am always looking for a new pattern to try out, to expand my creative side. Almost two years ago I moved to the United States. Many people kept noticing my creations and asked me if I sell them and started encouraging me to open an online store. Like a lot of crafters starting out, I was hesitant to try to turn my hobby into something more. Eventually, after much back and forth with my husband about the idea of always buying more yarn and frequent trips to various craft stores (He really is a good sport lol) I decided to give it a shot.
I LOVE making character hats. They can be used for multiple things. Such as a part of a Halloween costume, a photography prop, or simply just an adorable winter hat. Almost all of my hats are one of a kind and that is because I never work from existing hat patterns, just improvise as I go, making changes and refinements. I needle-felt a lot of my projects to add details. It might take hours of poking but it is also a relaxing procedure and the result is always very satisfying.
Everything in my shop is handmade by me, in my pet and smoke free environment. I believe quality is important, so I make everything as if I would be using it myself. My goal is to leave you, the customer, feeling as if you just purchased a piece of art. My promise to you is to always provide a high-quality product you can be proud of. And that’s something I am truly proud of, too! I love color, mixed yarns and all sort of materials. I gather materials from all around the world, for that reason I can not guarantee that I can make a piece twice.
